FAQ
DO BOTOX INJECTIONS HURT?
Botox/Dysport injections are relatively painless! It is several little pokes using the smallest needle out there!
Some might describe it as a small pinch where others don’t feel anything.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BOTOX/FILLER?
Botox injections treat deep lines and wrinkles by inhibiting movement of facial muscles.
Dermal fillers treat lines and wrinkles but do so by adding a filler solution beneath the skin. They do not affect muscles but instead add volume to plump and smooth and can add definition to the face.
HOW MANY UNITS OF BOTOX WILL I NEED?
Everyone’s facial anatomy is different, and each client will have an individualized expectation from their treatment. Treatments average between 20-50 units and depend on many factors including age, area being treated, strength of muscle, etc. A consultation with your injector can customize the dosing in the areas of concern.
WILL I SEE RESULTS IMMEDIATELY?
Botox /Dysport injection results can begin as soon as 2-3 days post treatment. You will see the full effect of treatment at 14 days. At two weeks I will see you for a virtual or in person follow up to see how that customized treatment settled. If we need to tweak your dose, we will do that at your follow up appointment.
WHAT WILL MY RECOVERY BE LIKE AFTER BOTOX?
Downtime is minimal. Most clients can go back to work or resume their daily activities immediately after treatment. Minimal bruising and swelling at the site are possible and can last up to a week. Before any special life event ensure that you plan your treatments at least 4-6 weeks before for optimal results.
CAN MEN HAVE BOTOX TREATMENTS?
Absolutely! Brotox is the nickname given for the treatment and is becoming increasingly popular.
Men are now aging on their terms!
CAN ANYONE INJECT BOTOX/FILLERS?
No. You should always seek treatment from a qualified, licenced, and trained healthcare professional. Doctors, Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses/Practical nurses undergo specialized training to perform these treatments.
